Really crispy
These tips will make your sweet potato fries really crispy:
- Cut evenly. You should cut your sweet potatoes into equal strips of half a centimeter. This will ensure an even baking time and each chip will be nice and crispy.
- Soak the fries. Once cut, soak the fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes or leave overnight. This removes excess starch and ensures better crispiness.
- Bake in an even layer. Make sure to spread the fries out in an even layer on one baking sheet, with a little space between each fry.
- Turn the fries over. About halfway through baking, remove the baking sheet from the oven and turn each chip over.
- Cooling down. Once the fries are fully cooked, let them cool at room temperature for 2 minutes to make them even crispier.
