Focaccia is so much more than just bread. This light and flavorful Italian treat is the perfect addition to any Italian meal or drinks. Enjoy it plain with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt, of course!

Ingredients
- 500 grams of flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 7 grams of yeast
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 300 milliliters of warm water
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- Coarse sea salt and rosemary for the topping
- Optional balsamic vinegar
Preparation
Step 1
Mix the sugar, warm water and yeast in a bowl and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Add the flour and salt and mix until a dough forms.
Step 3
Knead the dough for 10 minutes on a floured surface.
Step 4
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Step 6
Flatten the dough into a rectangular shape, make small indentations in the dough with your fingers and sprinkle with olive oil.
Step 7
Sprinkle with coarse sea salt and rosemary.
Step 8
Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Enjoy your homemade focaccia with a dip of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
