Ingredients:

  • 1 baguette or ciabatta
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 3-4 ripe tomatoes
  • A handful of fresh basil leaves
  • Olive oil, extra virgin
  • Salt and black pepper

Preparation:

  1. The bread: Cut the baguette or ciabatta into diagonal slices of about 1 cm thick. Toast the slices of bread in a grill pan or under the grill until golden brown and crispy.
  2. The garlic: Peel the garlic cloves and rub them over the toasted buns.
  3. The tomatoes: Cut the tomatoes into small cubes and put them in a bowl. Chop the basil finely and add it to the tomatoes. Then sprinkle the tomato-basil mixture with olive oil, salt and pepper and mix well.
  4. Make the bruschetta: Divide the tomato-basil mixture over the toasted bread. Drizzle some extra olive oil over the bruschetta if desired and serve immediately.
