You've decided to pre-cook everything and you've chosen the sous vide cooking technique for this. Because as you know, it cooks perfectly this way. By cooking the hamburger sous vide, it's just a matter of heating it up on the barbecue and giving the meat that smoky barbecue flavour when it's time to eat. An ideal combination. Ingredients:
- 600 g fresh ground beef
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp chili
Preparation:
- Get everything ready: Take a pan or sous vide container and fill it with warm water. Set the sous vide device to 56 °C.
- Make a real burger from minced meat: Mix the minced meat with all the ingredients for the burger in a bowl. Add a handful of breadcrumbs. If the mixture is too smooth, add more. Make 4 equally sized balls from the mixture. Press the minced meat into a round cutter or shape them round with your hands.
- Cooking: Put the burgers in the Sous Vide bags from Souvy. You can pack them per 2 pieces. Let them cook for at least 45 minutes.
- Brown them: Remove the burgers from the bag and let them cool to room temperature. Dry the burgers well before you start to bake them. Bake the burgers in the pan or on the barbecue until they get a golden brown crust.
- Build your hamburger bun: Use for example tomato, red onion, cucumber, pickle, ketchup, mayonnaise, bacon, cheddar cheese etc.
