Clean your blender in no time
The goal, of course, is to keep as much of the goodness as possible in the blender jar. So always make sure you keep the jar tightly closed while blending. If you do spill something on the motor unit, you can wipe it down with a damp cloth.
While some parts of the appliance, such as the blender jug and lid, may be dishwasher-safe – check the manual for this – it's best not to do this too often. Dishwasher detergents are quite harsh, and this will definitely affect the appliance's performance in the long run, especially the sharpness of the blades. Therefore, it's much better to clean the blender with a drop of regular dish soap.
The best tip for quickly cleaning your blender
Fill the blender jar three-quarters full with hot water and add a generous drop of dish soap. Then briefly turn the blender on. The rapidly rotating blades will create a mini vortex that will clean the blender jar almost magically. Empty the dish soap from the jar and rinse away any remaining soap residue with running water. Dry the blades immediately after cleaning to prevent rust formation.
Had a heavy blending session and the blender still isn't completely clean after the aforementioned tornado method? A little vinegar, baking soda, and water will do the trick. Blend these three ingredients together and let it soak overnight. Then clean the blender again with a drop of dish soap, and this chore can be ticked off your to-do list.
After cleaning, thoroughly dry the blender both inside and out. If necessary, you can leave the blender upside down on a tea towel for a while. It's best to store the blender without the lid on the jug. This prevents the blender from developing odors.
