Ingredients:

  • 4 small rolls or 1 baguette, sliced or halved
  • 1 bulb of garlic
  • 100 grams of soft butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Handful of fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Roasting garlic: Preheat oven to 200°C. Cut the top off the garlic bulb so that the cloves are exposed. Place the bulb on a piece of aluminum foil, drizzle with olive oil and season with a little salt and pepper. Fold the foil closed and bake the garlic in the oven for 30-40 minutes until soft and golden brown. Allow to cool.
  2. Make the garlic paste: Squeeze the roasted garlic out of the skin into a bowl. Add the softened butter and mix until smooth. If you like, you can add the chopped parsley at this point for extra flavor and color.
  3. Spreading: Spread the garlic butter spread generously over the cut side of the rolls or baguette.
  4. Baking: Preheat a grill pan or oven to high heat. Place the bread, buttered side down, on the grill pan and toast until crispy and golden brown. If using an oven, toast the bread under the grill until crispy and golden brown.
Serve the roasted garlic bread warm and enjoy the delicious combination of crispy bread and soft, aromatic garlic paste!
