Prep time: 10 minutes

  • 4 small rolls or 1 baguette, sliced or halved
  • 1 bulb of garlic
  • 100 grams of soft butter
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Handful of fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)

  1. Roasting garlic -

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Cut off the top of the garlic bulb to expose the cloves. Place the ball on a piece of aluminum foil, drizzle with olive oil and season with a little salt and pepper. Close the foil and bake the garlic in the oven for 30-40 minutes until soft and golden brown. Let cool.

  2. Make the garlic paste -

Press the roasted garlic out of the skin into a bowl. Add the soft butter and mix into a smooth paste. If you wish, you can now add the finely chopped parsley for extra flavor and color.

  3. Lubricate -

Spread the garlic butter paste generously over the cut side of the rolls or baguette.

  4. Baking -

Preheat a grill pan or oven to a high temperature. Place the bread with the buttered side down on the grill pan and roast until the bread is crispy and golden brown. If using an oven, toast the bread under the broiler until crispy and golden brown.

Serve the roasted garlic rolls warm and enjoy the delicious combination of crispy bread and soft, aromatic garlic paste!
