Ingredients
- 4 small rolls or 1 baguette, sliced or halved
- 1 bulb of garlic
- 100 grams of soft butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Handful of fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
Preparation
Roasting garlic
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Cut off the top of the garlic bulb to expose the cloves. Place the bulb on a piece of aluminum foil, drizzle with olive oil, and season with a little salt and pepper. Close the foil and bake the garlic in the oven for 30-40 minutes, or until soft and golden brown. Let cool.
Make the garlic paste
Squeeze the roasted garlic from its skin into a bowl. Add the softened butter and blend until smooth. If desired, you can now add the finely chopped parsley for added flavor and color.
Lubricate
Spread the garlic butter spread generously over the cut side of the rolls or baguette.
Baking
Preheat a grill pan or oven to high heat. Place the bread, buttered side down, on the grill pan and toast until crispy and golden brown. If using an oven, toast the bread under the broiler until crispy and golden brown.
Serve the toasted garlic bread warm and enjoy the delicious combination of crispy bread and soft, aromatic garlic paste!
