Jacket potatoes from the grill

  • 4 large potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Coarse salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: toppings such as butter, sour cream, grated cheese, chives or other favorite herbs.


  1. Step 1 -

    Preheat the grill to medium heat. If necessary, use the lava stones coarsely on your barbecue.

  2. Step 2 -

    Wash and brush the potatoes clean. Then dry them well.

  3. Step 3 -

    Prick each potato several times with a fork. This prevents them from cracking during grilling.

  4. Step 4 -

    Rub each potato with olive oil and then sprinkle generously with coarse salt and pepper.

  5. Step 5 -

    Place the potatoes directly on the grill rack and close the grill lid. Grill for about 45-60 minutes, turning every 15 minutes, until the inside is soft and the skin is crispy.

  6. Step 6 -

    Cut open the potatoes and serve with your favorite toppings. Enjoy your delicious baked potatoes from the grill!
