Ingredients
- 150 ml sunflower oil
- 175 grams of self-raising flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 150 grams of caster sugar
- 2 tablespoon light sugar syrup
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 150 ml semi-skimmed milk
- Sunflower oil (for greasing)
Preparation
Preheat the oven
Start by preheating the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Then grease two baking pans with sunflower oil and a little flour.
Blending
Mix the self-raising flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and caster sugar together. Then add the syrup, eggs, sunflower oil, and milk. Mix again until you have a smooth batter.
Baking
Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the cakes from the oven. Let them cool for at least 10 minutes.
Serve
Make the icing by mixing all the ingredients until light and fluffy. Spread some of the icing on one cake and place the other cake on top. Spread the remaining icing over the top and sides of the cake.
