The first question that probably comes to mind... why! Sous vide is great for meat and fish, why would you do this for broccoli? Sous vide cooking of broccoli preserves the flavor, it also preserves more vitamins than if you would cook it the traditional way. In this basic recipe we explain how you can easily cook broccoli yourself as a snack or as part of a dish.
- 1 brocolli
- 3 cloves of garlic
- Half a lemon
- olive oil
- sea salt
- black pepper
- parmesan cheese
Heat the sous vide apparatus to 86 degrees. Cut the broccoli into florets and cut in half. Cut the garlic into chunks and add to the sous vide bag along with some olive oil, sea salt and black pepper.
Vacuuming & cooking
Vacuum the bag and make sure the vegetables are single layer. Use a second bag if necessary. Cook the broccoli for 20 minutes at 86 degrees. After the 20 minutes, remove it from the bag and place it on a plate or in a bowl.
