Strawberry jam can be used for many other things besides bread. In your yoghurt or quark, on a pancake or even as a dressing. In this recipe we explain how to make delicious sous vide strawberry jam. On the table in no-time!
- 400 gr strawberries
- 200 gr jelly sugar
- 2 limes
- 1 vanilla pod
Grab your sous vide container! Heat up the sous vide cooker at 90 degrees. Make sure the container is deep enough and filled with water. Some of the water will evaporate, unless you use the thermal insulation balls the thermal insulation balls.
When the water is at the right temperature, place the bag with all the ingredients in the container with water and set the timer for 2 hours.
When the time is up, carefully remove the bag from the water bath and let it cool gently on the counter. You can choose to leave the strawberry pieces in place for a chunky effect. If you prefer a soft jam, roll it gently with a rolling pin. Do this carefully.
Take the jam out of the bag and pour it into a jam jar or weckpot. It's best to cut open a small corner of the bag, so that all the jam slides quietly into it and you don't spill.
